Ghost Recon: Future Soldier là một game bắn súng dựa trên người thứ ba; tuy nhiên, việc nhắm xuống các điểm tham quan sẽ khiến nó chuyển sang máy ảnh của người thứ nhất để nhắm chính xác hơn. Trong E3 2011 Ubisoft, Gunsmith đã ra mắt , cho phép người chơi tùy chỉnh và thử vũ khí với quang học thay thế, tệp đính kèm, nhóm kích hoạt, nòng súng, và nhiều thứ khác trong cả phần chơi đơn và nhiều người chơi. Tính năng đột phá này cho phép người chơi tùy chỉnh đầy đủ các lựa chọn vũ khí của họ.

Trong chiến dịch, người chơi sẽ mở khóa vũ khí hoàn thành với mọi thứ đính kèm tương ứng bằng cách hoàn thành các nhiệm vụ và thử thách, game bai . Mặt khác, trong phần chơi mạng, người chơi sẽ mở khóa vũ khí và kiếm tín dụng cho các bộ phận vũ khí khi họ lên cấp cho nhân vật của mình. Hơn nữa, trên Xbox 360, người chơi có thể sử dụng Kinect để tùy chỉnh vũ khí của mình thông qua cử chỉ tay và khẩu lệnh.
